Η Εραλδική διαδόθηκε ευρέως στη Δυτική Ευρώπη κατά τον μεσαίωνα, ιδίως μεταξύ των Τάξεων των Ιπποτών, Ευγενών, Αριστοκρατών και Βασιλέων.
